Ayn Rand Portrait Auction
Quent Cordair Fine Art is pleased to announce the auction of the original Portrait of Ayn Rand by Nick Gaetano. This original acrylic on canvas is similar to the Gaetano portrait commissioned by the U.S. Postal Service for the popular, recently released Ayn Rand Stamp. A portion of the auction proceeds will be donated to the Ayn Rand Institute.
For the final two days of the auction, July 9 and 10, the painting will be on display in the Quent Cordair Fine Art exhibit at the Pacific Palms Resort in Industry Hills, California, concurrent with the Objectivist Summer Conference to be held at the resort under the auspices of ARI.
In 1993, Nick Gaetano was commissioned by the Estate of Ayn Rand to create the cover art for the latest editions of Ms. Rand's body of work. Nick Gaetano's art has since become most widely recognized images associated with Ayn Rand and her writings. The two major novels alone, featuring Gaetano cover art, have sold over two-million copies over the past decade. In 2002, the original art for the Anniversary Editions of The Fountainhead and Atlas Shrugged sold at auction, by QCFA, for $118,000.
As the original artwork for the Ayn Rand Stamp is retained in perpetuity by the U.S. Postal Service, the Portrait of Ayn Rand now at auction is the one and only original Gaetano portrait of the great writer and philosopher available for private ownership.
Complete information about the potrait is available at the auction site at www.cordair.com or by calling Quent Cordair Fine Art toll free at 1(866) 267-3247 for details.
All bidding and participation in the auction is strictly confidential. The auction closes Thursday, July 10 at 1:30pm PDT.
